Andre's Story...
Meet Andre. He was an owner release to a local shelter. Andre is a sweet and very goofy, GORGEOUS golden boy! He loves to sit in your lap - quite a big lap dog - and does the golden head nudge for pets. Andre is about 80 pounds, 5 years old and we think golden and saint bernard mix. He has a gorgeous, fluffy coat and is very healthy. He knows some commands and walks very well on a leash. He would be best as an only dog. Andre MUST HAVE a fenced in yard. Andre is house trained and crate trained. If you are interested in adopting Andre, please visit our website adoptagoldenknoxville.org Knoxville to New England page for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andre, a Roanoke Golden Retriever/St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/St. Bernard for sale in Roanoke, or seeking a Golden Retriever/St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Roanoke.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roanoke already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roanoke breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/St. Bernard breeders who help with Golden Retriever/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roanoke paves the way for another one to be saved.
