My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scott is a handsome Golden Retriever mix about 5-7 years old. Everything in the big world seems to be brand new to Scott. He was surrendered by a rancher -- Scott had strayed onto the ranch a few months earlier. "Colorado is the place for me!" The ways of a ranch dog are becoming history. Scott is quickly learning "inside manners" and what wonderful inventions cozy dog beds are; how cool it is to have a meal schedule; how interesting it is to explore the neighborhood on leash walks; and how to play with his four-footed foster brothers and sisters. Most of all Scott is sharing his Golden-hearted gratitude with his foster family and everyone he meets.

Scott is sweet and mellow. His eyes show you that he is a great "old soul". Scott gets along well with others -- humans, dogs and even his foster kitty siblings - two elderly and one younger. The first night in his GRFR foster home, Scott found himself "nose to nose" with one of the kitties. To everyone's relief, he stayed calm and no fur flew. The three cats consider him one of their "pride" and they are often found snuggling with Scott. His canine foster siblings are "showing him the ropes". He walks beautifully on leash - no pulling and always there by your side. He is learning to play with toys and making steady progress on house training. Scott is even trustworthy to free roam in the house with the other dogs while his foster mom and dad are at work. He is a "good eater" and is gaining weight at a healthy pace thanks to foster mom and dad's specially selected high quality food. "I am bulking up and getting buff like the other cool Colorado dogs!"

Breaking news: Tonight Scott discovered how to come up on the couch for extra cuddles and how to have fun with Kong toys! You will have a wonderful time seeing this sweet boy enjoy the good life more and more every day and sharing his happiness.
