Buggs's Story...
Buggs is a pure bred Mi-Ki stud (retired). This designer breed shares it's origins with the Maltese, Japanese Chin and Papillon. The picture of Buggs with long hair was taken by the breeder who raised and used him. When he was released to rescue his hair was matted terribly and he had to be shaved to the skin.

Buggs is 5 years old and weighs just 5 pounds. He's only been in foster a few days at this posting (4/21/12) and spent half that time with the vet being neutered, vaccinated and heart worm tested. We've been told he's used to a potty pad and we're working on his outdoor potty training.

Buggs is not excited about being housed with several other small dogs. He seems to really LOVE people and wants to be in your lap every waking moment if you'll let him. He would be delighted with a retired person or family who can give him that undivided attention he craves.

Please e-mail for more information: mijos.mom@gmail.com. We typically respond to e-mail within 24 hours or less. All dogs listed by Promised Land Dog Fosters have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and heart worm tested. The adoption fee, to cover the cost of rescue, vetting and foster care is $140.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buggs, a San Angelo Maltese/Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Papillon for sale in San Angelo, or seeking a Maltese/Papillon dog from a breeder in San Angelo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Angelo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Angelo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Papillon breeders who help with Maltese/Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Angelo paves the way for another one to be saved.
