Fiona's Story...
Meet Fiona! She is a gorgeous Newfoundland/Golden Retriever mix. She is about 5 years old and found herself in a very high kill shelter in Tennessee. She is so, so sweet and LOVES to gives kisses to everyone she meets. She only wants to please everyone and her foster mom thinks she is the best dog around! Her gorgeous jet black coat is in bad shape so she may have to be shaved due to neglect. She did show positive for ehrilichia, which can be treated with antibiotics. Other than that, she is healthy and ready for her new home. She is great with cats - she gives those guys sweet kisses to. She needs a calm environment where she can be top dog! If you are interested in adopting Fiona, please visit our website at www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org - Knoxville to New England page for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Knoxvillle Newfoundland/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland/Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxvillle, or seeking a Newfoundland/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxvillle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxvillle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxvillle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Newfoundland/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxvillle paves the way for another one to be saved.
