Teddy NH (LOCAL)'s Story...
For more information about Teddy, please contact his foster mom direclty: patsmnb@comcast.net

Update from Teddy's foster mom on 7/18/12:

Teddy is a 2 year old shepherd mix being fostered in Hudson, NH. Teddy is on the nervous side and does best when he has at least one doggy buddy. He loves to play with his friends and is super off-leash. Another "calm" dog in the home is a must as Teddy takes his lead from his canine buddy. He needs a friend to show him that new people, visitors, and situations are OK, and should be taken in stride.

Teddy is house broken, does not chew things he shouldn't, and rides beautifully in a car. Because of his nervousness he would do best in a home with no small children- the more quiet and low-key the environment, the better Teddy does. He is a sweetheart who loves to stick close by his people when they are out doing yard work, etc. He loves his people so much, he even makes sure to play with his buddies by them! Teddy is a great guy who shines in the right environment.

Prior bio:

Teddy is a gorgeous shepherd boy that is hanging out in New Hampshire waiting for his new home - he's living with many dogs of all sizes and is doing great - Teddy "requires" dogs in his home as he's very comfortable around them and they make him less anxious - he was an only dog in last home and although his owners tried everything they could, he was too fearful - now he's with other dogs and there are no issues!!

Teddy is approximately two years of age now and is healthy as a horse - up to date with his vaccinations, he's neutered and is heartworm negative.

His foster mom is happy to tell you all about him so email her directly!

Adoption Donation: $200.00

Interested in adopting this wonderful dog? Please visit our website and complete an online adoption application.
http://www.pawsnewengland.com/adoption-form/

The adoption donation covers all pre-adoption vet costs (vaccinations, spaying/neutering -when age appropriate- heartworm testing/treatment when necessary and includes transportation up to New England at $140.00 per dog.

UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE OF RHODE ISLAND BOARDED EITHER PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES OR TRAINING FACILITIES. If a dog is listed as "local", he /she is at one of our foster homes in New England.
We are often asked, ""Why would you charge ""so much"" for a rescue pet? Why not just place it in a good home?" ..... The answer is because we need adopters who are willing to support all rescue pets, not just the dog they adopt. A young, healthy dog might cost us $150-400 in discounted vet care, and many people will want to adopt it; an older dog with health issues can easily cost $500-1500 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care for rehabilitation yet we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt him/her. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others.

BIO UPDATED ON 7/18/12. NEW PHOTOS POSTED ON 9/15/12.

About Our Rescue Group...
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.

Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.

Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our dogs are located either in foster homes in New England or Tennessee/Missouri. Please email our volunteers to ask about the specific pet that you are interested in.
