Scooby Doo's Story...
You'll love meeting Scooby Doo, an absolutely adorable young shar-pei/golden retriever male, about 18 months old & 46 lbs. He was abandoned by his pregnant owner, who felt she would not have the time to give him that he deserves once the baby is born. This could be your gain, as he has so much to offer your family. He's playful and loves everyone- just needs a little training, which will make him a great family dog. He loves to play with other dogs, especially females- so much fun to watch. His favorite place to be is outside romping around if it's nice weather- and would really thrive in a home with a fenced- in backyard. He still has some puppy energy, but settles down nicely inside after his play time outside. He gets along with everyone and will make a very nice family pet. Don't let your family miss out on this gem! If you can offer this sweet boy a permanent home to call his own, please fill out the application at our site at www.PeisandStrays.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooby Doo, a Newport Golden Retriever/Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Shar Pei for sale in Newport, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Shar Pei breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
