Marky Mark's Story...
Update on Marky Mark - Oct. 2012 - In a foster home with a 6 year old child, two dogs and a cat. Marky enjoys doggie playdates and walks with neighborhood dogs. A few things scare him, like that pesky electric scooter and some overly eager kids...if the kids take their time Marky is fine. He does not like a crate but would rather hang on the back porch while the people are away. At only about 25 pounds he's a cute little stocky dude! A little shadow, he hangs out at the foot of the chair and sleeps quietly all night in a little doggie bed, oh and in the middle of the day he really likes to take a "sun bath"....ahhh
Marky Mark has a sad story but now things are looking up....he's an easy going dog who just wants to hang out by your feet. He's quiet and a little shy. It would be best if he was with an adopter who knows how to be the "pack leader" because Marky makes a great follower! Good with other dogs and fine with cats. Not Wanted Anymore by Marky's former owner: Dog that has given me companionship and unconditional love. He is not too big and not too small...a perfect size. He has been devoted to me for life and now I'm giving up on him. Letting him down for the reason that my Rottweiler had pups and I am going to concentrate on selling them. I bred her on purpose. Shame on me. Marky is a male basset/dachshund/corgi mix. 1-2 years old. Email adopt@thisisthedog.com if you would like to meet Marky Mark. Or if you would consider fostering. He need some TLC. Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marky Mark, a Homestead Corgi/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Basset Hound for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Corgi/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Basset Hound breeders who help with Corgi/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
