Hi, my name is Blair. What makes me such a special dog? Well, if you're tone deaf and like to sing in the shower, I promise I won't tell anyone at all. You can sing as loudly and as badly as you want, and since I'm mostly deaf, your secret will stay safe with me. And I promise that I'll always think you look great, even if you have a bad hair day or gain a few extra pounds. I'm also mostly blind, so I won't even say a word about it!

In case you think that dogs who are deaf and blind would be a lot of work, let me tell you about a typical day for me. I love to eat, so I usually start off eating my breakfast with my tail wagging. Then I pretty much spend the whole day napping off and on snuggled up with my brother, Boris. (He's also mostly deaf and blind. Scroll down and you can see a video of us together. We'd love to be adopted together, but we understand if that's just not possible. We're resiliant dogs, and as long as there's plenty of treats and plenty of love in our new homes, we'll adjust!) And then it's time for dinner! In the evening, I'm usually pretty worn out from sleeping all day, so I usually doze a bit until it's bedtime. I'm lower than low energy - a hardboiled egg is more energetic than I am.  I used to live in a house with a lot of other dogs and cats and I get along great with other cats and dogs. I love when people pet me and would be happy to just lay around your house getting ear rubs and sleeping all day long.

All I want is a soft place to sleep (a lot - sleeping is kind of my specialty), some head rubs here and there, and a chance to live out my final years with dignity and the security that comes from knowing that I'm loved. Could you give me a chance?

About Our Shelter...
Angels of Assisi is dedicated to the preservation and care of all living creatures. We provide reduced cost medical care to companion animals with special emphasis on spaying and neutering to prevent pet overpopulation. We provide shelter, care and sustenance to companion and domesticated farm animals in need, including an adoption center for homeless dogs and cats and a farm animal sanctuary. Our goal is to educate the public that companion and farm animals are not objects for human use but are living sentient, creatures deserving human respect and kindness.

Angels of Assisi’s operating costs are subsidized by corporate sponsorships from Prime Time Rentals and NationsLine. Corporate Sponsorships and private donations allow the clinic to base fees on the income of the pet owner as well as provide services for rescue operations. For more information about Angels of Assisi and their services, volunteer opportunities, or to make a donation, please call the clinic at 540-344-8707 or log on to www.angelsofassisi.org.
