Hi, I'm Desi a gorgeous Catahoula / American Staffordshire Terrier mix who loves to play and be around people. I was one of many dogs rescued from a raid in El Rio. Those days long behind me, I'm waiting for someone to come and take me home.
I'm energetic and cuddly and I love the water. I would make a great jogging partner as I run along beside you. I'm ok with some male dogs in playgroups at the kennel. We can do a meet and greet if you already have a dog in your home. I do need a home with no cats. I react strongly when I see stray cats at the kennel, doing backflips to try and get to them.
I was at one of C.A.R.L.'s mobiles where someone approached me in an interesting way. I think I heard someone say it was something called a wheelchair. I wasn't afraid of it all, just very curious. I went right up to the person and just stood there for a closer look. He leaned down, and I very gently sniffed him and gave him some kisses. I then stood up on the wheelchair for a moment to investigate him further, which he seemed to like. We both had a great time getting to know each other for a little bit before he went on his way. Everyone praised me for being such a good girl.
I'm grateful to be given a chance to know the true meaning of being a cherished member of a loving family. I hope we all find our forever homes really soon.
