Clara is a female, domestic short hair, black and white tuxedo cat. She was born 5/15/12.

Hi, I'm Clara. I am very smart, and like to learn new things. I get along with all of my siblings and like to hang out with Rusty the best. I love to be petted, held on my back and to snuggle. I'm sort of the leader of the group; I'm not afraid of new things, but check I like to them out carefully before jumping in.

My siblings; Rusty, Binky and Ellie, and I, began life on the wild side. When we were about five weeks old, our mother found us a place she thought was safe. We had a nice building to crawl under, with lots of birds and chipmunks outside to eat. Then one day, something strange happened. Mushy stuff that didn't LOOK like food, but sure smelled like it started appearing beside our home. Before we knew it we were in little cages and then whisked inside to a new warm, safe world indoors. We've been having lots of fun, but some cats already live here and we'd really like to have new homes of our own.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: www.catscradleva.org for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

Our Adoption Process...
Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Augusta, Page, Rockingham and Shenandoah Counties in Virginia.
