Mabell has been at Heartland more than six years. That's longer than any other cat and she has been with us most of her life! Mabell is a gorgeous petite brown tabby with the most expressive eyes. It's like she is begging to finally have a home of her own. Mabell arrived at Heartland as a young stray who did not trust humans. It has taken her a while to learn that humans are her friends and that they provide love, food and pets. Over the years we've worked with Mabell and now she seeks out human companionship, sometimes. The way to Mabell's heart is patience, attention and a laser pointer. She loves to chase the laser pointer! Born in 2010, Mabell enjoys looking out the window and watching the birds and chipmunks. Mabell is looking for a home with an experienced cat owner who does not have children. She is fine with other cats. Be sure to watch her adorable video!

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
