Mickey's Story...
Hi, my name is Mickey and I need your help. I was born on July 4, 2005. I was part of a Two Left Paws "Trap, Neuter and Release Program". I was living on a farm with lots of other cat friends. But my friends and I weren't real friendly to humans so Two Left Paws thought it would be best to leave us right where we were to live our lives. We were neutered and spayed. We would have food, water, shelter and our cat buddies for the rest of our lives. We are so lucky. If we would be brought to an animal shelter there would be a good chance we would be euthanized for no other reason but because we weren't friendly to humans.

Two nice ladies from Two Left Paws came to check on us and noticed that I wasn't feeling well. So they took me to see a vet and I was told I tested a very weak Feline Leukemia and FIV positive. Which means I need to live in a home with out any other cats.

*Update* I am done with my medication and am feeling so much better now! I have to see the vet again soon to make sure that my lungs are clear. I really like living inside and spend some time every day exploring the house outside of my room and sitting on my foster mom's lap. That makes me happy and I purr and purr. Thanks to TLP for saving my life (the vet said that I was very, very sick when I first saw him)! I hope to meet someone special soon that will take me home to live with them forever!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Sheboygan Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Sheboygan, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Sheboygan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sheboygan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sheboygan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sheboygan paves the way for another one to be saved.
