Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Rafael's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Rafael's Story...
Rafael came from a very bad puppymill situation in KY. He has been with us for less than a year and has made tremendous leaps in his attitude and personality. His brother came in with him and is still too shy to be adopted. Rafael is 3-1/2 years old and weighs 24 lbs. He is a sweet boy, but is shy when you want to pick him up. He used to hide in the back room, and now he is out with the dogs everyday playing and he eats by himself, but hasn't missed a meal yet. He will take an experienced adopter because it will take a while longer before he trusts completely.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rafael, a Alderson Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Alderson, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Alderson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alderson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alderson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alderson paves the way for another one to be saved.
