All dogs available for adoption live in our home in Killingworth, Connecticut until they find their forever homes. When inquiring about a dog please let us know where you are located (local adoptions only, within 3 hours of Killingworth), if you have had previous Dachshund experience, if you have a fenced in yard, about your work hours, about your family - including pets, if you or anyone in your household smoke, and what you are looking for in your adopted dog. If you are interested in this dog or possibly another please be sure to submit an application online, www.ctdrps.com, and call to arrange a home check in order to get pre approved to adopt when the right dog for you, your family and lifestyle comes along.
Rescue Group Info...
Since 2004 we have rehomed over 200 dogs. The dogs we adopt out are up to date on all their shots and spayed/neutered. These dogs are our extended family and we like to place them close by. Except for those whose owners are looking for a new home for their dog but do not need to surrender them or friends of our rescue who have taken in dogs that we have agreed to get exposure for, all of our available dogs live with us in our home; all dogs are located in Connecticut.
We also offer boarding, nail trims, non anesthetic tooth scaling, and help with any Dachshund specific behavioral and medical issues.
You can email us at ctdrps@comcast.net or send a check made out to DRPS to PO Box 784 Killingworth, CT 06419
You can make an appointment to meet the dogs at our home (where all of our dogs live until they find their forever homes) or we can bring the dog(s) you are interested in to meet you at your home. We also have two annual socials, our spring social and halloweiner fest, where you can meet available dogs
The adoption fee is $350. The dogs are given all their shots, spayed and neutered, given any other necessary veterinary care, have their teeth cleaned and nails trimmed before adoption; this fee also includes 6 months of Heartguard. You can find our adoption application on our Website: http://www.ctdrps.com/photos.html
We adopt our dogs out primarily in Connecticut, but for the right home consider all of New England and New York. All dogs available for adoption live with us in our home until they find their forever homes; we do not use foster homes.
