From Abby's foster mom:

Abby came to us afraid of common things like windshield wipers, leashes, water faucets and automobiles. You wouldn’t believe that if you saw her now!

She’s a sparkly, warm dog who loves walks, running errands and especially the dog park (I go to off-leash parks and she’s great.) She’s housetrained (uses the doggy door- never an accident) plays well with other animals and is very sweet and a little shy around children. She ignores cats (though I think she sniffed mine once.)

She’s a spayed, 1 year miniature (29 pound) Shepard. Since most people have never seen a miniature Shepard, she gets lots and lots of attention wherever she goes.

I cannot imagine a better dog or one who will love you more than the amazing Abby.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Salem Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Salem, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
