Lyla's Story...
Lyla, the perfect name for me! Lyla was rescued from Animal Care Services after being picked up as a stray. My foster parents chose me because I am about the sweetest girl they have ever met. I came home from the shelter last night and was not feeling well because I was very scared. Once I was settled in they quickly gave me a wonderful spa treatment, bathing me, drying me off and warming me up in a nice fluffy towel, and a nice warm nap to follow. That was the life!! I feel much better now and my foster parents adore me. I was covered with fleas but am recovering well. I love to lay on my foster moms lap and go explore the yard when we go outside to play. If you are looking for the sweetest dog out there look no further!! Lyla is spayed, house trained, fully vetted, and will even use a doggy door.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lyla, a San Antonio Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
