Luna's Story...
Luna: For the month of March, Luna’s adoption fee is only $125. She’s spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on preventative.
Luna has been with us since 4-16-2012. We picked her up in OK, along with Sampson and Cheyenne (was Delilah), who you’ve seen on our face book page. Having never been inside, Luna will need housetraining. Born in 2010, Luna still acts very much like a pup herself. She’s playful and has a great sense of humor. If you have a secure fenced yard, or a pet safe basement/garage, that is going to be Luna’s preference of where to hang out while you aren’t home. She is not going to tolerate a crate. Typical Malamute, Luna cannot live with cats, female dogs, nor other small pets. A large girl at 80 lbs, we cannot adopt Luna to a home with small children as she’d likely knock a child over. She may be able to live with a large male dog, depending upon his personality.

Hi, my name is Luna. Although they call me Looney Toons too. Probably because I love to race around full speed ahead which makes people laugh. In my two years, I’ve only ever known a shelter, so when I get the chance to run, I stretch my legs as far as they will go. No one ever taught me to go potty outside, so I’ll need some training with not going inside. I’m a quick learner though and aim to please. I’d love to live with a big brother, but no cats or other small pets. I rode a long way, from Oklahoma, hoping to find a family to love me. And here’s a secret - give me a Kong filled with my dry dog food, maybe some peanut butter or plain yogurt and I am your BFF!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luna, a Augusta County Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Augusta County, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Augusta County.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Augusta County already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Augusta County breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Augusta County paves the way for another one to be saved.
