This gorgeous young boy is Willie! We think he is a mix of Whippet and Rhodesian Ridgeback, and he is about 11-12 months old and 35 pounds.

Willie was found as a stray and brought to the shelter in Newark. A recent trip to shelter to pick up another dog resulted in Willie being rescued as well. He was kenneled with another dog ("Kingsford", also up for adoption) and when we saw them sleeping on top of each other we knew we had to save Willie, too.

Willie loves other dogs, and is great with kids and adults alike. He is very calm for such a young dog, although he does have moments when he gets so excited to that he can't help jumping up on his foster mom to give her kisses or trying to climb into her lap. He is very smart and learns quickly (he has already mastered "sit" and "stay"). He would be a perfect family dog, and would fit well into any situation.

Willie is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, and up to date on all shots. He has a wonderful temperament and personality, and is probably one of the nicest dogs his foster family has had the pleasure of meeting.
