Skipper's Story...
Skipper came to us last year with the rest of his litter. He was adopted to a family that was supposed to keep him forever. Unbeknownst to MBR, they decided to give him away just because they were going to have a baby. Then that family turned him loose & he wound up in an animal control that was going to euthanize him. Thank God they didn't change his microchip info so MBR was contacted & able to reclaim him. This is Skipper now. He's a 1 year old male Bloodhound/Great Dane and a giant goof-ball! He must go to a home that will give him lots of exercise (another dog big enough for him to play with him is a huge plus). He calms down well when its time & actually has some manners once you get his attention. He does fine with small dogs & cats but thinks they are play toys so supervision is required. Loves kids & has no food aggression at all. Behaves moderately well on a leash and rides in a car very well. Oh ya, LOVES to cuddle on the couch. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skipper, a Franklin Grove Bloodhound/Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound/Great Dane for sale in Franklin Grove, or seeking a Bloodhound/Great Dane dog from a breeder in Franklin Grove.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Franklin Grove already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Franklin Grove breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound/Great Dane breeders who help with Bloodhound/Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Franklin Grove paves the way for another one to be saved.
