Addie's Story...
Sweet little Addie is a 1 year old, 8-pound girl with unique blue and tan coloring and curly- cue tail. She has the features of a miniature Shibu Inu. Best of all are the black mask markings around Addie’s eyes - to steal your heart. Addie is a young dog that has completed a basic training class (see the photo of her wearing her mortarboard!). She is a quick learner because she is so treat-motivated. She is house-trained but would appreciate frequent outside visits.

Addie loves to play outside and go on walks. Addie has learned to walk nicely on the leash. When Addie is playing outside she gets so excited that she hops like a bunny through the garden. Addie's fun and energetic antics are very much enjoyed by her foster family. She shares the house with two mature dogs, but would be better suited with a younger dog to play with or as an only dog. She also shares the house with a cat that fascinates her. Sweet Addie is a blank book that needs her life story written with your words.

Please see our other available dogs at Grateful Dogs Rescue. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial medical and other costs in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we must charge an adoption fee. The adoption fee for Addie is $200.

If you are interested in adopting Addie, please complete our online adoption application. One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Addie, a San Francisco Shiba Inu/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Chihuahua for sale in San Francisco, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Francisco.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Francisco already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Francisco breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Chihuahua breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Francisco paves the way for another one to be saved.
