Constance's Story...
Constance came to BHRG from a vet's office in Commerce where she was found as a stray. This tri-colored gal is around 7 years old. She tested positive for heartworms and she has completed treatment. Constance is a pretty girl and is friendly and sweet. She hops and howls when excited... likes to pounce with the bigger dogs (sharing foster house with 2 golden retrievers. She behaves very well on the leash on when walking. Knows to go potty outside if she has easy access and she knows how to use the dog door. Constance is a very calm and gentle little lady, but shows great excitment when we come home even if gone only a few minutes. Has not been up close with cats but thinks she would love to chase the neighborhood cats if she was able to. Constance has lots of energy and playfulness but also enjoys lounging around the house. Has the cutest howl when excited and playing but otherwise very quiet and content. She can't wait for you to choose her among all the others and build a lasting friendship with her forever family!

Constance, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
