Charlie's Cat-Tale: Mom was rescued March 7th from the north/west side of town.. where no food, water, or shelter was available. She had no home and was very pregnant. She was getting scraps from a kind family in the housing development, but it was a dangerous place at night. She had 4 kittens born on March 11, 2007. She has 2 male [orange one named Charlie, Black one named CoCo] . Both kittens are short haired. Coco is the reall play baby, 'energizer bunny , gotta-go-now type of kitten. Charlie is a bit less energized but still very inquisitive and playful. Both kittens are current on vaccines and are spay/neutered. Mom tested FIV/FeLV negative. We believe it would be best if Coco and Charlie were adopted together -but if not, we understand...a sibling bond in cats is very strong.
We always take the cat back. It may be one year, three years or ten years down the road... we want the cat to have a home. Whether it be due to moving, allergies or something else. We're in it for the cats.
At Cat-Tales Rescue we offer the option of Microchipping your cat, if not already done so [we've just started to do it the summer of 2007 and have it done when they are spaye/neutered. IF they are not already done they can be done for a fee of $12. We give you all the necessary paperwork to register them with 24-Pet Watch. We offer a discount if adopting a pair of kittens/cats. Each cat[under 3 yrs of age] or kitten is $75 to adopt......if a pair of cats/kittens are adopted at the same time it is $65/cat [under 3 yrs of age] or kitten. Cats over 3 yrs of age are $65. Owner relinquished cats are $55.
All of our animals are tested for FIV/FeLV [if they are kittens the mom is tested and we strongly suggest the new owners have them tested when they are 6 months of age, as a guideline for the cats health]. All are spay/neutered, vaccinated [if adopted before the age at which their rabies vaccine can be given (3-4 months of age) it is the owners responsibility to get them their vaccine]. We also treat them for earmites, roundworms/hookworms and if necessary protozoa and giardia. We give you all the baby photos we have. We also give you their favorite toys and some catnip. We have lots of information available in handouts if there is a subject that you have questions about [we use very well known internet sites on cat care]. We are always available should any questions arise. We offer cedar scratching posts that all of our cats use, we also have nail clippers that are at our cost. Trimming a kittens nails when they are falling asleep is the best time. It is just a matter of getting them into the habit a couple times/month of having it done.
