Boomer's Story...
If you would like to meet BOOMER, you can come to PetSmart at Ward Parkway Mall on Saturdays between noon and 3 p.m. or Debra directly at debra_lenoir@sbcglobal.net or at 913-406-4475.

Boomer is a German Shepherd, Beagle and maybe Dachshund mix who is a young guy at maybe 9-10 months old. He still has that puppy energy and absolutely loves to play and play and play! Once he’s done playing, Boomer loves to sit in your lap or right next to you and get some tummy rubs or just some general attention. He really likes playing with toys and other dogs, though sometimes he does growl when he’s playing. It’s important to make sure his playmates know he’s not being aggressive, just vocal.

Boomer is housetrained and kennel trained, as he hasn’t had any accidents. He also knows sit and down. When Boomer gets a little rambunctious, he responds very quickly to verbal commands and will sit looking at you for what to do next. He is still learning his puppy boundaries in regards to playing and mouthing, but he is quickly catching on.

Boomer’s a little under-weight right now, but we’re working to get him where he needs to be. Even then, Boomer probably won’t be a big dog – maybe around 40-45 pounds. He’s still new to his foster home, so we will update everyone as we get to know this sweet guy a little more.

If you think Boomer would be a great fit for your family, contact his foster mom Deb at 913-406-4475 to meet him today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boomer, a Overland Park German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Beagle breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
