Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Birdie is a darling 3 month old, 15 pound puppy who was rescued from living in a hole in a tree trunk! Her breed mix is uncertain--she may be a lab/shepherd mix but her full grown weight will probably be under 50 pounds. Birdie's coat is soft and medium in length. Birdie is such a well-mannered, calm puppy. She is VERY playful with other puppies and dogs but calms down for a nice snooze on your lap. Birdie is wonderful with kids of all ages and she thinks cats are fun to play with too. She is house trained and crate trained and is quiet for a puppy. She barks appropriately but isn't a barker. This gentle, sweet, playful little girl will be a wonderful addition to any family where there is an adult at home to continue her socialization and training. Birdie is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her spay, heartworm and flea/tick prevention, distemper/parvo, bordatella and rabies vaccines, worming and a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
