Elmer's Story...
Elmer is a shy boy at first, but loves to play once comfortable with his surroundings. He is a true hunter and enjoys interactive games with mice or other wand-type toys. If it moves, he will catch it. He is a love magnet. He wants to be around you, touching you, loving on you all the time. While working on the computer he sits next to your keyboard and just purrs and stares at you with such affection. Things that are loud or approach him fast will make him hide, so he would probably enjoy a family with older children that understand him and that will be gentle. He is good with other sweet cats and might adjust to a calm, quiet dog that would ignore him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmer, a Flower Mound Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Flower Mound, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Flower Mound.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flower Mound already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flower Mound breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flower Mound paves the way for another one to be saved.
