Jake's Story...
Jake will steal your heart! He was dumped at the house of a kind person who is associated with our rescue, so we were happy to help find Jake his forever home. Jake is a loveable, big, clumsy pup who is going through what we like to call the “teenager” stage of doghood - not a little puppy anymore but not an adult by any means!! Jake is a Walker coonhound mix and is just adorable with his sweet face. He has big paws he will need to grow into so we know he is going to be a big guy. He is a typical puppy, loves to play and loves attention, loves people and is good with other dogs. He would be great for any family but seems to be the type of dog who would enjoy going on walks or runs with his folks. Please note that Jake is being fostered in Tennessee, so you wouldn’t be able to meet him prior to adoption. This type of adoption works quite well and is used by many southern rescues to get our dog out of high-kill areas where they are abused and neglected, and into areas where there is legislation to protect them and where we know they will be safe and loved. The $450 adoption fee includes the cost of neutering, all immunizations and transport to your area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a White Plains Coonhound/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound/Labrador Retriever for sale in White Plains, or seeking a Coonhound/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in White Plains.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in White Plains already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a White Plains breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Coonhound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in White Plains paves the way for another one to be saved.
