My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Butterscotch is an affectionate and loyal friend, Butterscotch is being tearfully relinquished to rescue by her elderly and recently disabled owner, who has had to move from a large home in the Midwest to an apartment in a senior care facility. She is the typical Collie companion, loving above all else to be with her person as much as possible. Since she is used to being an “only dog,” even though she gets along fine with other dogs, I can tell she’d prefer to be someone’s whole world, which is how she’s been treated all these years. We are hoping to find someone who is home a lot and doesn’t have any other pets. Butterscotch is reported to be great with kids, but we don’t know how she’d do with cats because she has never lived with one. She seems to be in good shape, except for some arthritis in her front paws, for which she is on medication. She’s recently had her teeth cleaned and is up to date on her vaccinations and heartworm meds. Her eyes are clear, hearing is good, and she is house-trained and with a good solid tummy. Butterscotch is easy going and would make a wonderful pet for anyone who wants a pre-trained, low maintenance dog. As her foster mom says, “she asks for nothing and is simply happy to be by your side.” New 05/25/2007

If you are interested in providing Butterscotch with the loving home she deserves for her senior years, please contact Andrea Moss at: andrea@calcollierescue.org. Count the love, not the years!
