"Tucker" looks like a cross between a Yorkie, a schnauzer and a wild hare. He has a Yorkei's
golden yellow coloring, a schnauzer's wirey coat and bunny rabbit ears that, thankfully, were not cropped. He was recently groomed and, then, dumped out of a car with a very pregnant doxi, last Thursday night on a quiet street in Bellaire. A neighbor's security camera recorded the "crime scene" but, unfortunately, not the license plate. Another kindly neighbor took in the two frightened pups for the night and called True Blue Friends the next morning. She dropped both of them off at the West U Vet for us and when we went to pick them up, hours later, we learned "Tucker's" traveling companion, "Madonna" was about to give birth. She did, one day later, to seven puppies!!! Tucker has gallantly wanted to be near her, to protect her, but she does not want Tucker or any other dog around her babies, all of whom are black and none look like Tucker So, Tucker has been spending his time, playing with all the small rescue dogs and is a delight!
Despite his abandonment, he holds no grudges and is grateful just to be surrounded by his new fur friends. He's the size of a mini schnauzer, close to 20 pounds, and very exuberant about life. He would be great with children of all ages. If you would like to meet this handsome boy with ears that catch everyone's attention and make them smile, come by this Tuesday's Rice University Farmer's Market, from 4-7pm.
