Ahlmand's Story...
Hi, I'm Ahlmand. I am a male neutered, Great Pyrenees mix. I am white with tan, approximately 1 1/2 years old. These past few weeks have been unbearable. My person passed away, there was nothing I could do. I saw him laying there wishing I could alert someone, all I could do was hope that someone had realized that he hadn't been seen in a while. Finally, all these people showed up, police were everywhere. They even called animal control to remove me from the premises. I didn't want to leave him, he was all I had known. It was scary, I was put in the truck, didn't know where I was headed. Next thing I know, I'm at the humane society. All of these animals were barking and going on, I wasn't used to this type of enviornment. I didn't know what was in store for me. My holding period was up, I was brought to the main building, I was tested for heartworms, vaccinated, and given a bath. The ladies here love me, they say I am a people pleaser. I enjoy going for walks, like treats, and I am a bit submissive. I still miss my person but I have room in my heart for a new family to shower me with affection.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ahlmand, a Murphysboro Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
