Sweety's Story...
Sweety is just that, a precious, timid yet loving chihuahua. She found her way to our yard, likely dropped off in front of our house because folks know we rescue dogs. Such a sad thing to do, especially to a mature dog.

Guessed to be about 7 years old and tipping the scale just over 8 pounds, Sweety is potty trained, spayed, vaccinated and heart worm tested negative. The more time she spends in her foster home the more she opens up to the situation. She plays like a much younger dog and has even proven to love small children which is not very typical for a mature chi.

Please e-mail for more information: mijos.mom@gmail.com. We typically respond to e-mail within 24 hours or less. All dogs listed by Promised Land Dog Fosters have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and heart worm tested. The adoption fee, to cover the cost of rescue, vetting and foster care is $140.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweety, a San Angelo Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Angelo, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Angelo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Angelo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Angelo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Angelo paves the way for another one to be saved.
