My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Judy is an adorable purebred Golden Retriever. She is 5 years old.

Judy is a sweetheart. She was under socialized as a puppy and so, sometimes, she still likes go off by herself while she is in your house. It is as if she is hiding. But, this unusual habit is changing already as she builds confidence with her loving foster family. Judy loves to have you come pet her and she even rolls over on her back for belly rubs. When Judy is outside she is far more confident than when she is in the house. She plays and actively seeks out her people for love and attention. After exploring the back yard for awhile, she often comes over and sits on her foster dad's feet with her nose up angling up bumping his hand for pets. Really sweet!

Judy is loyal, loving and and so ready for you to love her and show her the good life. She just needs to know that she can trust her people and how much her people love her.

Judy is has good manners and is completely house trained. She is fine with free roam in your home for several hours. -- up to six at a time -- when you are out and about and cannot bring her along.

Update: Judy went with her foster family to a Memorial Day BBQ and had a great time. She was comfortable and played so nicely with all of the little kids and the other dogs too. The experience has helped her confidence a lot already. After the BBQ she did not hide and her her confidence seemed much higher. She wandered around the house freely and spent some time in the family room instead of going off to her own place in the bedroom. With more time, good experiences and a loving family, Judy will realize her Golden potential!

***********
PLEASE NOTE: Judy will need a forever family with a canine sibling for her -- a confident dog to help her learn about the good life of a family dog -- as only another dog can teach her.
