Maxine's Story...
12/9/11 Maxine is a beautiful girl full of energy. Over 50 lbs, and 3 years old, Maxine loves to run and playfully carry a stick in her mouth teasing you to join in the game. At first Maxine may seem a little shy, but that's only briefly while she gets to know you. Then she wants as much attention and love as you'll give her. Don't be surprised if you find her sticking her face in the water pail. She loves water. Maxine, who loves to walk on a leash, would probably be happiest with an active family who will take her on lots of outdoor adventures.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxine, a Southampton Chow Chow/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Golden Retriever for sale in Southampton, or seeking a Chow Chow/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Southampton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southampton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southampton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Chow Chow/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southampton paves the way for another one to be saved.
