Rubie Wilder's Story...
5/9/12 Completely vetted and chipped..ready to go Rubie is a 3 year old Shar Pei/Greyhound Mix. She was rescued from a guy stationed in Hawaii and not wanting to spend the money to take her back.. She was taken in by a military family with two children and brought back with them. Now they are moving and their new home doesnt allow pets...oh well..she was suppose to be brought to a high kill shelter in Columbus, GA. The mother of the soldier which lives here in Hinesville didnt want that to happen and drove up to pick Rubie up, she wanted to bring her HOME.... Well...she didnt think that Rubie wouldnt get along with her cats...and now Rubie..once again needs a place to go. She lives outside at this point:-(( I met Rubie today and she is a very outgoing and friendly dog..she greeted me right away and I got kisses. She gets along with other dogs and loves people..she lived with two small children for the past year. NO cats. She almost never barks, knows basic commands and is housebroken. Very well behaved in the house and well mannered. She is UTD with her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and HW negative, just tested yesterday. She weighs around 40 pounds i would say..very lean built.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rubie Wilder, a Southampton Greyhound/Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound/Shar Pei for sale in Southampton, or seeking a Greyhound/Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Southampton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southampton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southampton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound/Shar Pei breeders who help with Greyhound/Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southampton paves the way for another one to be saved.
