Rockabilly's Story...
5/15/12 Looking for the love of your life? Well, look no further! Here he is, the perfect lover-boy! Rockabilly, named for his party personality, has never met a stranger, human or canine that he didn't try to make his friend. Around two to three years old, this black lab mix is a large guy at 76 lbs. He was rescued from a gassing shelter in eastern North Carolina on his last day and he has wasted no time in living everyday to it's fullest. Rockabilly loves people more than anything, to the point that he will jump a low fence to visit with anyone walking on the other side. After he has greeted everyone sufficiently, he will jump back over the fence of the rescue facility. Unfortunately for him, we have had to curtail his social outings to keep him from fence jumping. He does stay in the higher six foot fence area where he also has lots of doggies playmates to keep him happy and occupied. So he will need a family or individual that will teach him his boundaries and keep him safe and sound. In return he will love you unconditionally for a lifetime!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rockabilly, a Southampton Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Southampton, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Southampton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southampton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southampton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southampton paves the way for another one to be saved.
