I am already spayed, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
We think Lizzie is just one of the best seniors we have ever had in foster care. Lizzie is a Tree Walking Coonhound/Foxhound mix. She is 10 years young and is a joy to have in our home. Lizzie has a short coat and enjoys being brushed. She was a little thin when she came to us from the shelter but she is just right now at 80 lbs. Lizzie had heartworm when we chose her from the shelter and the Humane Society paid for her heartworm treatment. She is now heartworm free and we are so happy for her! The only requirement is that she will be on heartworm prevention every month for the rest of her life. Lizzie is excellent with other dogs, she does enjoy their company very much. When she arrived in foster care she loved to chase the kitties. Now Lizzie only does it to bring them out of hiding. Once they come out, she smells them and is off to the next big adventure. Lizzie sometimes plays chase with the other dogs in the house since her foster home doesn't have a fenced in yard. As a hound she cannot be off leash unless in a fully 6 foot fenced yard. Lizzie is spayed, heartworm tested negative, up to date with vaccines and on heartworm prevention/flea prevention monthly. Lizzie is crate trained to be in a crate when her foster family is not home. She sleeps on a doggie bed beside her foster Mom's bed. Lizzie loves to watch out the window and is very good at alerting the family when she sees someone or another animal close to the property. Priority will be given to applicants who have a second dog. This is one loving hound an Lizzie loves to get hugs now, never having experiencing them before judging by reaction the first time she ever received one from her foster home. Oh yes, she is allowed on the furniture. LOL
