Facts about Fred

  • Breed: Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd Mix

  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male

FRED is approx. 8 years old. He was found as a stray over a year ago. He was emaciated, had mange, and was generally standoffish with people. He spent several months on his own and many people were mean to him. He also had to fight with other dogs for resources to survive.
NOW, Fred is a super lovable 90+lb boy. He has a great coat and is in great physical and emotional health. He loves to be around people and is good with kids. His behavior with other dogs has significantly approved. He is comfortable with them around. He would still do best as an only dog, but is no longer outwardly dog aggressive. He is not good with small animals. Fred walks well on a leash and is very calm. He would be a great match for an older person.

This pets adoption fee is $80 which includes his/hers spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, routine vaccines, deworming, and flea/tick preventative. It must be prepaid to allow us to have the vetting completed. This normally takes 1 week or less so you wouldnt have to wait long to take your new family member home. Please consider adding him/her to your family.

About Tennessee Animal Rescue & Shelter Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Tennessee Animal Rescue and Shelter Inc. was founded to help alleviate the suffering of animals. There are way too many animals that are abandoned, neglected, or abused by no fault of their own. This shelter plans to help these animals get the homes they deserve through rehabilitation and proper education. People need to be aware of their responsibilities to the animal before they bring it into their home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All animals are on site and will occasionally be shown at adoption days and local stores.

Our Adoption Process...

We start off with an interview which just covers some basic questions to make sure you will be providing a safe and loving home for your new pet. We have an adoption contract that is required upon adoption of an animal. It states that you must adequately take care of the animal which includes shelter, confinement if necessary, and proper nutrition. The adoption fee varies to include all of the funds the animal has used. If they are not spayed or neutered yet, a deposit will be required, or it will be done by us upon adoption.
