Louis is a sweet dog who came to us from the Massachusetts Animal Coalition's PILOT program. We think he is about 7-years-young. Being a Beagle he has a musical hound voice that to a Beagle lover is wonderful. It can convey, " squirrel, squirrel, SQUIRREL", or "Please take me for a ride please, you know I love to do errands with you", or "Intruder, alert, intruder!, whoops, no, just a leaf." Louis' owner died in a tragic accident and the person who took him in was not very kind to him, but luckily the wonderful ACO took him in and made him available to the Medfield Shelter. Our manager drove him to the shelter and even bought him an Egg McMuffin for the long drive! He was perfectly behaved in the car and gave her many kisses. She was impressed by the way he sat in the front seat and took dainty bites of his sandwich. Please come visit him. He's the one in the red Patriot's collar and the big wagging tail next to Faye, who is also patiently waiting for a home.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application. Our dog adoption fee is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar, leash and crate.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we do not have a staff. One of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
