Could this be your new best friend?
CAPTAIN is looking for a very special home possibly a ranch or farm. He was rescued from the side of the road about a mile from Fuzzy Friends Rescue; covered in ticks and in need of immediate medical attention. We cannot say for sure what Captian's life was life before he arrived at our rescue, but it was apparent that he had been neglected and was very wary of strangers. He has come a long way in building trust with the staff members and volunteers, and he has quickly become one of our favorites!
This boy is a whirling dervish of activity! When he is in his kennel at night, he keeps himself occupied by batting his food bowl around. During the day, he will sometimes pick up rocks and toss them about the day yard. He loves to run the fences with the dogs in the neighboring exercise yards, but put him with any of these dogs, and he plays with all his heart.
Captain is a very intelligent and intuitive dog, so he will need to participate in activities that will continually challenge and stimulate him. Of course, he will need the regular daily exercise, and would love going for walks or runs with his special human being. We would not recommend Captian for a home with small children, but he we feel he would do well in a home with active owners who could include him in ther activities.
When he needs to spend some alone time it should be in a secure, well-fenced, and dog-friendly back yard with water, shade, and protection from the elements. Since Captian is uncomfortable with new people and new situations, we do not feel that he would thrive as an 'outside only' pet. He is going to require constant socialization and reinforcement, which will require time, love, and patience.
Captian is a wonderful dog, but he just needs to be allowed the time to get to know you. We do not want him to spend his days at Fuzzy Friends Rescue, but we do want to ensure that he is adopted into a well-adjusted and happy home. He could make a wonderful companion, and we think he would feel very lucky to have someone to share his life with.
Come meet Captain today!

Shelter Info...
Fuzzy Friends Rescue believes that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for the animals. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need. We want to instill in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization that cares for homeless and unwanted animals in a life-care environment. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another, and we care for all those we take in until they are adopted.
We try to place these animals in new homes with caring families as soon as possible. Some stay at Fuzzy Friends Rescue only a matter of days or weeks, but sometimes it takes months of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. In some cases for those harder- to- place animals, their stay may be a year or more. Unless they have developed an incurable disease or they are aggressive they have a home at Fuzzy Friends Rescue until they can be found a permanent, loving home.
We are open Monday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (closed Sunday)

IN ORDER TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, you must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have legal identification with your current address
• Be able to verify that you can have a pet where
you live if you rent or proof that you own your home.
After your complete an adoption application, it is sent to our review board, this process takes about 24 – 48 hours. If approved, you will be asked to come back to the facility to complete the formal adoption process.
Understand that FUZZY FRIENDS RESCUE reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.
No animal is more valuable than any other. The difference in fees is to help us cover the expense of caring for the younger animals since they require more vaccinations and medical expense than a lot of the adult animals. Also, the older animals are often over looked and the reduction in their fee will hopefully help place them in homes so they can live out their retirement years being loved in a home environment.
