Astro is one of those very special guys that runs to the side of his habitat to say hello and beg for treats. He truly is an exceptional piggie, young, active, and very outgoing and friendly. Astro has (barely) nipped fingers in the past in his overwhelming joy at the thought of treats, so while he's fantastic and very friendly, for this reason we are requesting a home with children over 14 or an adult only family.
The first steps in adoption are to complete the application on our website at www.piggiepoo.org on the Adoptions page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Astro, a Phoenix Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
