Laila's Story...
Laila is a sweet and friendly cat with lots of personality. She is a special cat because she has extra toes, which is also known as being polydactyl. Polydactyl cats have long been valued for their dexterity. In fact ships captains used to bring polydactyl cats on board for their climbing and hunting abilities. They became a symbol of good luck and a safe voyage on board ships and were highly valued. The writer Earnest Hemingway was once given a polydactyl cat as a present and from then on refused to have any other kind. In fact on his death he left his home to his many toed felines friends.

There are many great things about Laila besides her feet. She purrs and cuddles up to everyone she meets. She is very outgoing and affectionate. Laila loves to play and interact with people. Don't miss out on this super special cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laila, a South Haven Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
