Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Shadow's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Shadow's Story...
Shadow was born in May 2011 and was recently hit by a car and needed to have his right rear leg amputated. He is healing well but due to the trauma from being hit, he is having some bladder issues that will take time to resolve. He is such a sweet dog and is looking forward to being able to run and play again.

UPDATE: Shadow is doing really well and is ready for a family to call his own. Stop out and meet this big, happy, energetic puppy! Much more handsome than his photo shows.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Des Moines Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Des Moines, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
