Annie's Story...
Hi, I'm Annie. I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control, and while at their shelter, I had kittens. An AARF volunteer rescued us so we wouldn't have to stay in that cage. I'm still a baby myself (about 6 months old), and because I'm so little and because of all the stress, my babies were very premature. Sadly, they were too weak to make it. I'm still a little sad, but my Foster Mom says that I can be a foster mom too! There are lots of orphaned AARF kittens who need a Mommy, and I'm ready to help! In the meantime, I have my buddy Cici (he's the handsome fella in the pictures with me). I cuddle with him all the time, and I groom him and give him kisses.
I love to curl up with my foster mom and give her kisses all the time. I love to curl up in a warm lap and get brushed. I really like toys that are made out of corn husks, hemp, or other natural stuff. I'm not a huge fan of plastic toys. Except for plastic bags, I love plastic bags! They're crinkly and funny! I also have my own video of colorful fish swimming--it's the best movie ever!
My foster mom says that even though I was a stray, I have very good manners. I use the litter box (and I never have accidents). I only scratch on my cardboard post, never on the good furniture. And I always greet people with a mew and a big ol' purr!
As much as I love helping with the other AARF kittens, I really want a forever home of my own. I want a family that I can adopt and love forever. I promise, you'll never feel lonely as long as I'm around! If you'd like to meet me, please email my foster mom at persingerma@yahoo.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie, a Winston-Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
