Colonel's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Colonel's Story...
Brewster and Colonel are 6 yr old Sheltie brothers who need to find a home together. Brewster is tricolored and Colonel is mahogany Sable & White. They love hanging out with their people and want to be cherished as an important part of the family. They are neutered and up to date on shots. They do need a yard with at will access for potty and will need some leash training. They are okay with other dogs but prefer each other’s company. We are not sure about how they will react to cats or kids, but in the right situation with a proper introduction and supervision, they will probably do fine. They are fast learners who love to romp and play.

Brewster and Colonel are in the San Diego County area, so adopters from Southern California are especially encouraged to apply. To sponsor them, please make a donation on our website or email us for more information. To apply for adoption, please fill out the online application so the appropriate volunteer can get back to you. www.SheltieRescueSD.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colonel, a San Diego Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
