Maxine's Info...
| Breed: | Domestic Shorthair | Color: | Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby | Age: | Young |
| Sex: | Female | Hair: | Medium |
I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
Maxine and her sisters were rescued from a hoarder situation in St. Louis County. At first they were incredibly timid and scared. It took some time but they are now a year old and things have improved but they are going to need some time to get used to their forever homes. I have no doubt that they will become highly social, affectionate companions. Homes with young children or dogs may not be the best place for these girls.
Maxine is a beautifully marked dark brown tabby with a white tummy, paws, throat and muzzle. She also has the most exquisitely luminous large green eyes. Maxine is now the shyest of the group as far as people are concerned. I thought she would be the most outgoing but Patty and Laverne have out paced her in that area...but not in playing. Maxine is the most active as far as toys and the fabric tube are concerned and was the first to jump right in! Maxine might also be a candidate to go to a forever home that would adopt her with one of her sisters. Either way I’m sure she will respond to kind attention and become that cat your lap is longing to have!
Despite the stressful and scary situation of the transition from hoarder house to animal control to her foster home, Maxine has never growled, hissed, bitten or scratched. approx DOB August 2011

Rescue Group Info...
Tenth Life is an animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Our focus is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing conditions that make it difficult for typical shelters to afford their care.
Stage one of our mission is getting needy cats off the streets of St. Louis and into caring Foster Homes, where they await their forever homes. Stage two´s goal is to open a shelter building that will house special-needs kitties in a cage-free, no-kill setting until they can be carefully placed in their forever homes.
Please visit our website, www.tenthlifecats.org
All potential adopters are required to complete a comprehensive application and interview, and will need to supply proper identification, as well as personal and veterinary references. Our adoption fee is $100 for kittens 6 months or younger, and $75 for any cat over six months of age. Our fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines to-date of adoption, and a microchip. Once approved, all adopters are required to sign an adoption contract.
Tenth Life serves needy homeless cats in the St. Louis area, offering them much-needed medical care, love, and finding them permanent, loving homes.
