Athena's Story...
Hi! My name is Athena and I’m a beautiful, plush girl. I was born in July 2010

Please don’t pass me by because I’m a little shy at first. I just don’t like these adoption days because, when I get to know you, I purr like crazy! Oh, and I LOVE to have my back scratched. I get along well with dogs!

Stop by and meet our pets on SATURDAYS from noon to 4pm at PetSmart 455 E. Cochran Street; Simi Valley, except holiday weekends. Please email (staff@arvsimi.org) ahead to make sure a particular pet will be at adoptions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena, a Simi Valley Norwegian Forest Cat cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norwegian Forest Cat for sale in Simi Valley, or seeking a Norwegian Forest Cat cat from a breeder in Simi Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simi Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simi Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norwegian Forest Cat breeders who help with Norwegian Forest Cat rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simi Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
