Candy's Story...
Candy was one of our kitties previously rescued from the shelter while pregnant back in 2003. She was adopted and went to what was thought would be her "Forever Home". However, she was turned in to the shelter by her adopting family for reasons unknown...dumped, basically. Thank goodness for microchips because we were notified that she was there and we got her out and into a foster home. She's been fully checked out by a vet and she's completely healthy. She's a sweet and friendly girl and is ready for someone to give her a happy home for the remainder of her days. She loves to sleep and cuddle, but randomly has bursts of excitement and playing with other cats. She also has bonded with her foster dog/sister more than with her other foster cats, so a home with dogs would be absolutely fine. She never fights with other cats, but would be fine in a 1 pet home as well. She is easy going and very loving. She is a long-haired senior, so she has some grooming and hairball needs.

Stop by and meet our pets on Saturdays from noon to 4pm near the groomers in the PetSmart store in Simi Valley, except holiday weekends. Please email ahead to make sure a particular pet will be at adoptions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candy, a Simi Valley Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Simi Valley, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Simi Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simi Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simi Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simi Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
