Lucy's Story...

We received an urgent call from a veterinarian (luckily, they know who to call in case of an emergency!). A local breeder wanted to have this little girl put down because of allergies. She didnʼt want her treated with the prescription food they recommended or even give herquality food (can't make money on breeding dogs if you have to treat them and feed them properly...). They talked the breeder into surrendering her and one of our volunteers came to the rescue and opened her home to this little girl named Lucy.

Lucy is a small purebred Fawn Pug. On her first day with her foster family she was so hungry that she ate 3 bowls of food right off the bat. She was not just starving for food, she was also starving for someone to give her love and attention. Just looking at her you would not know she has a skin problem. But, when you uncurl her little tail and check her ears you can see that her hair is gone and her skin is black and dry.

This 1 year 7 month old Pug is full of love. She is very playful and gets along with her Pug friends at her foster mom's house and loves to be loved. She is house trained, pad trained, and loves to run around in the playground. She will follow you every place you go.

If you are willing to give her the proper care, and give her lots of love just explain to her foster mom why you should be the one to adopt her, and let's see if we can't make a love connection!

Lucy will be spayed shortly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Warren Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Warren, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Warren.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warren already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warren breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warren paves the way for another one to be saved.
