Hey, I'm Serena---named for my solid, serene personality. Unfortunately those qualities don't show up in photos which is why I've seen dozens of spotted dogs, fluffy dogs and blue-eyed dogs come into the kennel and then get adopted while I'm still sitting here in all my plain brownness. But have you ever tried to keep a fluffy dog with lots of white clean? The are high maintenance. Take a nice short brown coat like mine and you have more time to play and romp and snuggle with me, and that's what I crave. I love people, especially men with all the trappings that dogs are often scared of---the boots, beards, sunglasses and ball caps---bring'em on cause that's what I like best.
I'm sturdy, stocky and have the build of a much bigger dog than I actually am. I can hike all day with you or sit in your lap to watch the sunset or wait contentedly at home for you. I'm not needy and can play by myself when you go out, but I'm always ready to comfort and love any human who crosses my path.
I'm housetrained and crate trained, happy to be indoors or out, but happiest wherever there are people. Even though I'm laid back, I used to get on the wrong side of other alpha female dogs, so I'm currently going to school to help me enjoy playing with all kinds of dogs. Life is now a LOT more fun. All I need to make it complete is a home and family of my own to love and protect.One of my best friend volunteers has made a beautiful photo story about me on Facebook.
