THIS IS EMERSON...and even though it's difficult to take a picture of a coal black dog....Emerson is so adorable, his cuteness clearly shines through the camera lens! This 14 lb, 2 yr old, Lhasa Mix is a sweetheart of a pup! He loves everyone....people, other dogs, kids (over 8 yrs old please) -- just about everyone and everything! He is very submissive, he is even good with cats! Emerson came from a high kill shelter towards Central California, where little dogs like him just don't get adopted. We're not sure if it is because he is black or if they just don't understand the breed...but Emerson is about as sweet as they come. He came to us unneutered, so he was marking at first -- but even that has subsided. Putting him on a schedule will definitely be the way to go for success. He seems potty trained now, but no guarantees!!! He is a kissy face romeo...who loves to be with his peeps. He does like to play with other dogs but could go to a home without another dog as long as he is not left alone all day. He'd prefer having a companion of one kind or another...and a lot of people time. His favorite place is with his head in your lap....and he loves to snuggle! While he isn't allowed to sleep on the bed in his foster home (only because their bed is too crowded) -- if he had his choice that would be it! That being said, Emerson is smart and knows the word "no!" and does listen. Training definitely should be in his future, so that he can be the best companion he can be. If he sounds like your type of pupster....come and get him!!
Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

First Sunday of the month, we hold our adoption events at The Healthy Spot West Hollywood (8525 Santa Moinca Blvd, West Hollywood, 90069) from 11am-3pm. Most every other Sunday, unless we are doing a special event, we are at My Pet Naturally (12001 W. Pico Blvd., West LA 90064) from 10:30a-3pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our
