Pepper's Story...
Meet Pepper, a stunning little self Blue Merle Australian Shepherd who weighs around 35 pounds. Pepper is up to date on all her shots, neutered and Heartworm negative. Pepper was given to the rescue because she was a bit more active then the family was ready for.

Pepper is 100% housebroken and crate trained. She rides well in a car and walks okay on a leash. The foster family is working on her walking manners. She also knows basic commands like sit, down, stay (for a little bit;).

Pepper is very good with the children in the home, she will play fetch and chase and run until you either lose your arm or need to sit down. Pepper is reactive to strangers as most Aussie are, she will bark when a stranger approaches and will calm down once she knows the person is allowed to be near her family.

She is dog reactive and as such should be in a only dog home, she is okay on walks and seeing them, but needs to not have to compete for attention in her forever home. Pepper is a lover and is always looking to please her family.

Pepper is hanging in the Grayslake Illinois area and if you feel you would like to adopt this Blue Merle, Fun Loving Australian Shepherd click here: Aussie Rescue Midwest Adoption Application. Reference ASRM 0092.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Washington Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Washington, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
